Since 1951.

James Tabata opened Grant Street Service in 1951. The work outgrew Grant Street and moved to Nicollet Mall.

His last move had a purpose: put complete auto body repair beside mechanical and fleet work. He brought it all to Central Avenue and named it Auto Truck Service Company. Today, Jim's family owns and operates the shop.

Fleet work gets priority here, with part of the labor force dedicated to it. A truck sitting idle can cost more than its repair. The shop is set up with that in mind.
